One of the most inspirational, challenging, exceptional and amazing things to do is to travel. And no, Traveling is not always as good and lovely as planned. Like every other thing in life, travel is not usually perfect. There are always the good and ugly side to EVERYTHING! One of it is traveling solo.
Although traveling solo may be very great but there are times you would wish you traveled with someone. But all the same, whether you travel solo or not, traveling will change your perception of life. life for the better or you might absolutely hate it.

ENOUGH TIME FOR SELF DEVELOPMENT
There are times some travelers need to be alone and sit with their thoughts, read, write, get inspiration or just rest. Unlike traveling with a group of friends when you may have some annoying travel buddies who will not give you the time to be on your own, solo traveling gives you room to have time for your self development.
NO ARGUMENT OR FIGHT
No matter how close you are to someone you travel with, there are times when you just argue or have one of those little fights. But traveling alone, there’ll be no one to engage in any arguments or fights with. This will make your holiday great.
YOU DO THINGS AT YOUR OWN PACE
When you travel alone, you become very flexible and do things the way you want it, at your own pace. There’s no one to decide what to do or where next to visit. You become your own boss. Lol!
THE ROOM IS ALL YOURS
No snoring partner or partner that kicks you off the bed before you wake up. You own the room all to yourself and enjoy the comfort without having to satisfy anyone.
YOU BECOME MORE CONFIDENT IN YOURSELF
Traveling solo will definitely bring out the self confidence you never thought you had out. When you need help, you get to talk to strangers you’re always shy or scared to talk to on a normal day.
CONS OF TRAVELING SOLO
YOU GET BORED OF LONG LAYOVERS
As a solo traveler, it gets so annoying when you are all alone at the airport waiting to catch your flight. No one to talk to or walk around with. Although there are quite a lot of things you can do to enjoy your long layover (you can check the things you can do here so you wont get bored when you have a long layover) but being alone gets more boring.
YOU KEEP BEGGING STRANGERS TO TAKE YOUR PHOTOS
Lol! You definitely want to take thousands on photos when you go on vacation right? But you may not take as many as you wanted because you don’t want to stress the life of the stranger you just met with your numerous photo requests. Well, maybe the best things you can do at that moment is to setting up a tripod, but hey! You may still not be satisfied and you really don’t want to hassle the other travelers or a total stranger.
NO MEMORIES SHARED WITH OTHERS
Trust me, crazy, fun, travel memories are best shared with the people you travel with; family, significant other and even friends. There are times when you just want to gist about some crazy moments when you traveled and then you remembered “oh no! You didn’t travel with me, you can’t understand).
YOU GET BORED AT SOME POINT
No matter how much fun you’ve been having, at some point you’ll definitely start missing not traveling with someone (friends, partner, family). But you can avoid this a bit by making new friends.
BILLS PAYMENT CAN BE ANNOYING
There are times you want to pay for some things with your card when you are out of cash and then your card decides to show its own power and you are like “ok…now what’s going to happen?”. It may be very annoying at that point and you get stuck there till you sort it out. If you traveled with someone, this may not happen because at least one of your travel buddy can always sort it out. But you’re on your own now (cries).
Traveling solo is not a bad thing after all. It is actually a very wonderful travel experience you will always be happy with. Do not let the ugly side of solo travel stop you from doing it.
