On Friday, 25th of May, a new Mayor was sworn in in Kigali, Rwanda.
Marie-Chantal Rwakazina who replaced Pascal Nyamurinda has set her sights on tourism sector in the city. Absence of extensive recreational centers is one of the things Rwakazina vows to focus on during her tenure. This aims to be beneficial to both residents and tourists.
During her campaign, she mentioned one of the key areas; Tourism sector, she’d love to work on. Again while giving a remark during her inauguration on Friday, she emphasised on it as she vows to improve on recreational facilities.
In her statement, she said the City of Kigali must be a city that attracts visitors and its residents must also “enjoy and feel at home.”
“I am not really saying anything new but I believe visitors to Kigali and residents alike need to find touristic attractions within the city without searching farther.
