Delta airlines, the leading carrier between the Unites States of America and Africa has entered an agreement with Kenya airways to share codes on their flights. The two airlines signed the deal on 11th of August with the  aim of strengthening relationship between the 2 continents.

Delta airlines will place its airline code on Kenyan carrier flights from Amsterdam, Paris, London, and Accra to Nairobi. Similarly, Kenya Airways will place Delta codes on its flights to more than 10 African destinations. The key destinations in Africa include Addis Ababa, Maputo, Johannesburg, Lilongwe and Djibouti City.

With the codeshare partnership, passengers can now enjoy a smooth travel experience with one stop from the US.

Delta’s Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, Corneel Koster, stated that the airline is the leading airline between US to Africa.

“Delta is the leading carrier between the United States and Africa,”

”This new partnership with Kenya Airways’ will give customers even greater choice for travel between the continents thanks to Kenya Airways’ extensive network beyond Nairobi.”

The Chief Commercial Officer for Kenya Airways, Vincent Coste expressed their delight about the partnership.

“We are delighted about this closer relationship with Delta, and believe that this will bring real benefits to our customers and our business. Kenya Airways and Delta are both premier airlines and this agreement is a positive step in our cooperation.”

For over a decade, Delta airline has been operating flights in Africa. Kenya airways, one of the leading carriers in Africa operates flights in 52 countries across the world.  Majority of its flights operation is within Africa.
