Winter Olympics, Pyeongchang 2018: An African Medal Will Be Nice
Jan 10th, 2018

Winter Olympics is exactly one month away and we are rooting for one of the countries representing the African nation to bring a medal to the motherland!

We have our unwavering support for our bobsleigh girls. However, #TeamNigeria is not the only African team to qualify for the Winter Olympics 2018.  Kenya, Eritrea, Togo, South Africa and Morocco all have competitors participating in various sports for the Winter Olympics.

So far, thirteen African countries have participated at the Winter Olympic games. The number will increase by one with #TeamNigeria’s bobsled qualification.

Here is a list in the order of when each African country first attended the Winter Olympics. South Africa (1960, 1994-2010), Morocco (1968, 1984-1992, 2010-2014), Senegal (1984, 1992-1994, 2006-2010), Egypt (1984), Algeria (1992, 2006 and 2010), Swaziland (1992), Kenya (1998-2006), Cameroon (2002), Ethiopia (2006-2010), Madagascar (2006), Ghana (2010), Togo (2014), Zimbabwe (2014)

…and team Nigeria (2018)!
