Having a good travel experience is not just about the people you meet at your destination, the nice places you visit and all. Atimes your good travel experience starts by how well you plan and prepare for the trip.
Check these 4 important points to note when preparing to embark on an international trip.
MAKE SURE YOUR PASSPORT IS VALID
This is one of the most important things every traveler should know, GET A NEW PASSPORT BEFORE YOUR INTERNATIONAL TRIP IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 2 MONTHS VALIDITY. When making an international trip, always double check your passport to be sure you have at least 3 months validity. Some countries require you have at least 6 months.
I know someone who wasn’t allowed to proceed with the trip at the airport because he had less than a month (2 weeks actually) validity.
GET A TRAVEL INSURANCE
Many people do not get a travel insurance when going on trips. It is very important for every traveler to get a travel insurance which helps to cover them when things go wrong on the trip. It is a smart way of protecting your trip against any loss, damage or flight cancellations.
HAVE SOME CASH WITH YOU
Many people prefer to go cashless which is very good, but atimes going totally cashless may not be a good idea. Not every place you go accepts credit cards. Especially places like train or bus stations, you may need to pay in cash. Also, there are times you want to use your card but it doesn’t work. Having some cash on you will help you at that point.
CHANGE YOUR MONEY AT THE BANK OR BDCS
The conversion rates at the airport may be to high atimes. It is advisable you change your money at the bank or BDCs before you embark on your trip or when you arrive at your destination.
