Sky diving is an extremely daring activity even for adults but this brave 10 year old took the plunge on a family vacation to Namibia. To be honest, we did not even know 10 year old’s were allowed to sky dive but apparently so.
I HAD TO ASK A FEW TIMES BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT I WAS TOO YOUNG.SO I WENT TO THE TOUR GUIDE AND ASKED THE AGE LIMIT, I WAS JUST OLD ENOUGH! THEN THEY ALLOWED ME TO GO WITH MY FATHER.
We saw Alina’s sky diving photo on her mum’s Instagram page and asked if her daughter will be willing to share her experience with us.
She thinks it an experience everyone should try once in their lifetime and advises to wear light clothing and chose the right guide! Alina currently resides and schools in Nigeria. Check out her responses below:
YOU RECENTLY WENT SKY DIVING, WHERE DID YOU DO IT AND WHY?
I went skydiving in Namibia.I did it because I thought it would be lots of fun and that it would be a great experience.
WHERE YOU SCARED? DESCRIBE YOUR SKY DIVING EXPERIENCE
At the beginning, I was very scared.when I first fell out of the aeroplane, I felt like it was the end.But luckily it was not. The first few seconds are scary, but I got used to it and started to enjoy.The overall experience was amazing!!
DID YOU PARENTS OBJECT TO YOU DOING THIS OR YOU HAD THEIR PERMISSION RIGHT AWAY?
I had to ask a few times because they thought I was too young.So I went to the tour guide and asked the age limit, I was just old enough! Then they allowed me to go with my father.
DID YOU READ ANY ARTICLES OR PREPARE YOURSELF MENTALLY FOR THIS OR WAS IT A SPONTANEOUS DECISION?
It was a spontaneous decision. I did not prepare for it in anyway. I just wanted to do it.
WOULD YOU ENCOURAGE OTHER YOUNG TRAVELERS TO TRY SKY DIVING?
I think they should try it, it has a wonderful view from ten thousand feet high. When it ends you want to do it again.
GIVE FIVE TIPS/ADVICE TO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TRY SKY DIVING
You do not need a sweater do it lightly dressed.
Choose the right guide.
It is challenging and liberating thus you realize the sky won’t be the limit anymore!
Don’t turn the parachute to much, you will land faster!!
WE SAW YOU ALSO WENT SAND BOARDING. YOU ARE REALLY ADVENTUROUS AND BRAVE. WHAT OTHER EXTREME ACTIVITY WOULD YOU WANT TO TRY?
Yes indeed, it was another wonderful experience! I would love to share an adventurous experience with my family while bungee jumping.
Alina’s video has surely encouraged us to live just a little! Sky diving just got bumped up the list and we will love to do it in Dubai. We hear Sky Dive Nigeria is somewhere in the pipeline. Will go sky diving in Nigeria?
