Airport security is one of the major concerns for air travellers these days and airports have been trying to ensure tight security.
Following the threat by ISIS, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) is partnering with airlines to ensure the safety of lives and properties at Lagos airport, one of the busiest airports in the country. This came after the Federal Government alerted some authorities of the threat by ISIS to attack commercial airlines.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Danjuma Ibrahim said it’s his duty to ensure tight security. He has urged major security stakeholders to support the force to ensure safety of lives and properties around the airport.
The AIG of Police who is heading the Lagos Airport Police Command, took over the area after threat alert. Since he took over the command, he has visited the management of Dana Air and Arik Air. He urged the airlines to be ready to play a vital role in sharing security information with the police.
Senior Vice President Operations for Arik Air, also promised to cooperate with the Police to boost security at the airport.
While the Police and airlines are doing their best, we should also help by sharing relevant security information with them.
