Due to the traffic on some domestic routes in Nigeria, airlines have been working on increasing the number of flights from 2-4 days to daily flights.

In the bid to provide more flights to air travelers, Overland Airways has started flying daily from Abuja to Jalingo. The airline will operate flights on this route every day except on Saturdays. The flight will depart Abuja airport at 11 am and from Jalingo at 1 pm.

Mrs. Aanu Benson, the Chief operating officer of the airline explained the reason for increasing the flight on the route.

“With excellent services, increased patronage is only natural and this has been our story since the inception of Overland Airways. The flight frequency will enable more business travels and connectivity between Taraba State and the country’s capital, thus, allowing for the development of tourism and trade in both locations.”

Taraba is a state with good farming land and Overland Airways has committed to give the state the necessary support. Soon the airline will inaugurate the project of transporting fresh farm produce from Taraba to other states in the country.

“Importantly, Overland Airways will launch the first pilot project in Taraba State to fly farm fresh vegetables from Jalingo to Abuja and other destinations. We are excited and committed to this remarkable project to support the production and consumption of healthy farm fresh vegetables. Taraba State is endowed with arable land and has recently invested in greenhouse farming and other activities to boost food production and employment.” 

Currently, Overland airways operates flights to 7 states in the country; Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Jalingo, Ilorin and Asaba. Later this year, it will inaugurate it’s first international flight within West Africa to Cotonou, Niamey and Lome.
