When planning a vacation, what determines your destination of choice?
The desire to go to somewhere I have not visited before, the fun activities for tourists at the destination (is it amaze balls or just there? I usually do Internet searches and make a list of things I would love to do) and most importantly, budget for the trip. Is the budget affordable or super expensive? If expensive then I will wait for Mr right to come before I list all the expensive places I would like to visit e.g Maldives, Seychelles,Hong Kong, Bali (Indonesia), Bora Bora. Dear future husband please take note.
I won’t say I look forward to trying new food when I travel. That’s never on my list. Why? I hate to try new food plus am super selective when it gets to food. I even have a whole list of things I don’t eat. So half way through my trip, I find myself missing jollof rice and goat meat. Lol!
What is the one thing you cannot do without when you go on vacation?
Ha! Like you have to ask??? A camera/Phone. I love to take photos. That’s one way that I can preserve memories of my trip. I am a picture freak, a bit vain and probably a narcissist. Yeah! Yeah! I remember sometime in 2011, I lost my phone like a few days before my trip. I cried my eyes out, not primarily because of my contacts or stuff on my phone but because I couldn’t even imagine how I was going to go on this vacation without taking pictures. I blackmailed, nagged and pressed every mumu button of my boyfriend then (Rest In Peace) until he got me a phone before the trip. I still made him buy me a camera when we got there 🙂
Vacations are all about creating exciting memories. What is the most exciting thing you have done on a holiday?
The most memorable thing I have done on a holiday so far is parasailing!!! I am not good friends with height so you can imagine. My parasailing adventure was amazing!!!! I literally couldn’t believe my eyes. The view from the sky was breathtaking. Looking right over the ocean with clear turquoise blue water as far my eyes could see was everything! I have never seen anything so beautiful, calm and serene. It was definitely worth it. Yes, so I can tick parasailing off my bucket list ? ✔️.
Where is that one place you HAVE to see in your lifetime?
My dream destination is Bora Bora. The island’s crystal clear waters has got me dreaming about that place. It would make for a stunning vacation as well as an expensive trip. I hear hotels there can cost as much as $5000. Well who says a girl can’t just dream?
