What could be the reason why planes flying to Africa are not as good as planes flying other routes? We may not know the actual reason but one thing we know for sure is HOW AIRLINE TREAT FLIGHTS TO AFRICA IS NOT FAIR. For many times we have traveled and have had to make a stop in an African country before changing flight to the destination, we usually get better flight treatment (from spacious, neat, comfy planes to friendly air staff) compared to the flight from Lagos, Nigeria. We won’t be wrong to say most of our planes in the country are crappy!
Even with these ill-treatments from these airlines, the voice of angry air travellers from Africa have not been heard. It takes just one person to voice out and call out the airlines in question. A few days ago, someone struck up the conversation on Twitter on how these airlines treat their flights to the continent.
This 44-word tweet has unexpectedly spread like fire and it has gotten a lot of reactions, comments and opinions from air travelers, especially those who have experienced the poor treatment.
But can we blame airlines that fly from outside the continent for treating flights to Africa separately? Even African airlines are guilty of these. According to some twitter users, some African airlines operating within the continent do not use better planes but would rather use better ones for the ones operating on routes outside the continent.
Not only Airlines treat travelers to and within Africa separately, even airports do the same. How some of these countries treat African travelers entering their country can be very shameful. We remember our last trip to Mozambique and Namibia, immigration delayed us for over 2 hours. We couldn’t hold it for long but just had to call them out on Instagram and they apologized.
LETTER TO AIRLINES
As Africans travellers, we also deserve to have comfort when flying within and outside our continent. We do not have to travel to other routes outside Africa before enjoying a comfortable flight with better air staff, good meals.
DEAR AIRLINES, PLEASE STOP BRINGING CRAPPY PLANES TO AFRICA. WE ALSO DESERVE A COMFORTABLE FLYING EXPERIENCE. PROVIDE US WITH BETTER PLANES!
