Lagos is fast becoming a cosmopolitan city and these days, you barely have to leave the city to travel through food. There are quite a number of restaurants with amazing dishes from all over the world. What better time to try them out than Valentine’s Day?
We’ve compiled a list of 10 restaurants where lovers or friends can explore foreign cuisines this Valentine’s day in Lagos. Let’s know which of them you’ll be trying out on the 14th of February and beyond
Jamrock: Located on 69b, Admiralty way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Jamrock is a cosy restaurant (more like a fast food joint) that serves a number of Jamaican and Caribbean cuisines to its customers at an affordable price. It’s not your ideal location for Valentine’s Day lunch/dinner but if you are looking to travel to Jamaica for some rice and peas + jerk chicken, you should definitely try them out.
Thai Thai: We got invited to a Thai family lunch sometime last year and all we can say is Thai Thai is the truth. If your palette is not adventurous (ie strictly Nigerian diet), Thai cuisine will work perfectly for you. Its often times spicy. Chef recommends “prawn in tamarind sauce (Goong Makham). It is sweet and a little bit spicy with lots of crunchy veggies with fried onions on top”.
Bottles: we’ve only ever gone to Bottles for drinks but we hear its the only authentic Mexican restaurant in Lagos. Their drinks are AHHH-MAZING that’s for sure. This Mexican restaurant is located on 8, Imam Agusto, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Kaldi House Lagos: We tried Ethiopian cuisine for the first time in Lagos! The restaurant scene is really picking up. Kaldi House offers something slightly different from all the other restaurants. It is also a coffee factory and there is the option of booking a coffee factory tour along side lunch. You get to tour the factory and learn all about various species of coffee. They also teach how to roast coffee beans then you proceed to a coffee cupping ceremony. Right after the ceremony, you’ll be served Injera, a traditional Ethiopian dish with flat bread and a variety of sauces, vegetables and meat. You can book this experience with us.
Salma’s: There are tons of Lebanese restaurants but this one just speaks to us. Their Instagram feed is just so pretty. Salma’s is a newly opened restaurant located on Ozumba Mbadiwe way. They claim to be a new fine-dining restaurant serving authentic Lebanese cuisine and we cannot wait to try them out. They just might be our choice this Valentine’s Day.
1415: This is surely one of the finest dining restaurant in Lagos. Everything about 1415 exudes luxury and class with pastas and meats cooked to perfection! We’ve tried a 5 course meal here and nothing fell short, not even the sparkling water. A budget of N50,000 will be more than adequate for two. Try them out this Valentine’s Day but don’t forget to call and make a reservation. It’s bound to be fully booked on Valentines Day/weekend.
Shiro:is everyone’s favorite fine dinning restaurant it had to make our Valentine’s Day list. Shiro offers Chinese, Korean and Thai cuisines on their menu. Switch it up and book a cabana by the beach, however, you’ll need a minimum spend of N100,000.

Noir:French restaurants are known to be really romantic so fine dinning like the French will be ideal this Valentine’s Day. Noir is new in the restaurant scene and is becoming popular. The most fascinating thing on their menu is the steak and you get to cook it yourself.
They are strict on reservations, ensure you give them a call before you go.
La Taverna:nothing screams Spain like a good old pan of Paella and La Taverna is probably the only restaurant that serves it in Lagos. We hear its a huge hit and can’t wait to try it. Take a trip to Spain and try out Paella this Valentine’s Day.
