Mountain lions are very common in the USA. But the population of these big cats in different areas varies. It is highly populated in California than other parts of the USA.

One of the few people that first spotted the big cat was Deborah Moore, a 65 year old woman. She came face to face with the mountain lion when returning from her friend’s place. In a report, she said

“I was stunned and amazed at the beauty. I didn’t feel scared, it didn’t seem like it was aggressive,”.  “We just had a kind of staring contest and I didn’t want to take off and have it chase me or something.”

Before wildlife officers could capture the lion, police officers informed residents through their social media platforms to stay indoors. A police officer, known as Mike Bires said

“We have the mountain lion contained to the rear of the residence and we do have [California Department of Fish and Wildlife wardens] “It’s just hanging out.”

According to report, the lion was jumping from yard to yard and being monitored by a drone before it was finally tranquilized and captured.

CONSERVING WILD LIFE IS IMPORTANT
Rather than destroying the lives of wildlife, it’s better we conserve them. When we kill them, they drastically reduce in number and eventually, they go extinct.

Good thing this animal wasn’t found in Nigeria, maybe our ‘great’ hunters would have killed and posed by it to be famous (lol). But in the case here, it was captured and taken away from the residential area, back to its habitat. Kudos to the wildlife officers for doing a good job.

What would you do if you found a lion in your area or even in your compound? We would probably vacate the area for months!
