Aug 3rd, 2018

How would you feel or react if your plane was due for landing but refuses to land for over 30 minutes?

It was a moment of fear and panic for air passengers in the early hours of today. A Dana Air plane which was due for landing couldn’t land for 45 minutes as it turned around in air. This was due to the closure of Abuja Airport for some “VIP movement”

Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport closed for 45 minutes because the President of the Federation made his return back to Abuja from Bauchi state.

The airport closed for 5 minutes before a Dana aircraft reached Abuja and the pilot received a directive to hover. After 27 minutes of hovering, the pilot received a command to land but was again stopped from doing so because the airport was still closed. This resulted to 45 minutes of hovering.

One of the officials of Dana Air said the situation could have led to accident if the aircraft fuel exhausted while it was hovering for that long time.

How would you feel if you were on that plane?
